I Won't Give Up

One guy played the guitar & sang this song Friday.
My friend Mike & I loved it, but couldn't remember the name or who sang it.
Well I found it! Hope you enjoy it too :)

Someone commented, "There should be more Jason Mrazs' & less Nicki Minajs' in the world"
Agreed.

Good Fun

....and slightly dangerous ;)

I don't like to go out much. It runs in the family because my brother & sister are home bodies too. We'd rather stay home watching a movie & are fine with just that. I'm so busy with school and work that I don't have much time for anything or anyone so when I'm down to do something they usually already have plans.

Exhibit A:
I hadn't seen my friend John in 2 weeks so I texted him Thursday, "Spice! What are you doing tomorrow night? It's open mic night at institute! Or we can do something else" to which he responded with, "Yo! I'm actually going to open mic night tomorrow.....with a date" Fail. Right? Yeah, I thought so too.

I went to open mic night anyways and met up with some of our other friends. I'm glad I did! It even worked out for Mike because Cristina brought a friend that he hit it off with ;) We had a good time enjoying the songs, skits, and more. I'll admit I was actually impressed with many. Talk about talent! It was fun, "clean", and enjoyable for everyone.

When we decided to bounce and head out we ran into our friend Nate & told him to roll with us to In-n-Out. Insert the dangerous part ;) 5 people. 4 cars. Harbor Blvd. 1 winner.

Lets just say I should be a NASCAR driver. Went from third to dead last. Loser in the back. Yeah! Except I'm sneaky. Sailed right by Cristina, passed Mike & went slightly ahead of Nate (I had to turn my head so he wouldn't see me smile haha). But he didn't let me have it easy. In the end? Winner! Although, I don't think I'm ever going to drive that fast on the streets ever again. Adrenaline rush, but so not worth it in the long run.

Anyways, we hung out cracking jokes, telling stories, laughing a ton, and just having a good time with each other. We were laughing so much that at one point a lady marched right up to us, pointed & said, "You guys!........are having way too much fun!" *cue her stern face that turned into a smile & laugh* That's right lady, we're having fun & didn't need the alcohol or the green stuff (it was 4/20).

I look at it and am so glad I can have a great time with awesome people....without getting crazy under any type of influence.

Good. Clean. Fun.
It's enjoyable.
It's what I like.

Always Laughing

You know it's been a good weekend when you've spent most of it laughing with a smile on your face. We definitely had one of those last weekend :)

To kick it off, it was Mom's birthday on the 5th, which just so happened to be the same day my brother, his girlfriend & her sister drove down from Utah. Black Angus definitely hit the spot! Happy 16th birthday, Momma! ;)

Friday night involved stopping by the hospital to give Papa Fuga a blessing then heading to Downtown Disney for fireworks & fun :)

Where can we get tickets to the gun show?! ;) owww

 Kaiona's thinking, "Oh heyyy!"
Chris is thinking, "I really AM strong!"
Tico's thinking, "This is so embarrassing..."

Saturday involved waking up early to watch Lizzy's softball games & going to Balboa Island where we paid 12 bucks for 6 people to cross the ferry just so we can eat. Seriously?! Who in their right mind pays 12 bucks to cross a ferry for food?! We were supposed to be sight seeing with the visitors & all we did was eat. Of cooooourse that would happen. It was worth it though because we got some hilarious stories/memories from it that hopefully I can share once I get the pictures haha.

Saturday night involved watching these handsomes play against UCLA. It was a brutal game & it hurt to watch them get whooped, but it's ok! We still got to enjoy the view ;)

Cheering Futi on :) BYU volleyball all day, every day!

It was definitely a great weekend full of fun & laughter and I hope Chris, Minnie, and Katie come back soon and for a better reason! Maybe by the next time I blog I'll have bigger & better news. Until then, sit tight ;)

Sometimes I Like To Embarrass Myself

I went to dinner with my friend Angi tonight. Yay!

Host Guy- Have a good dinner :)
Me- You too! Errr you're not eating...just kidding...

Host Guy smiles & laughs.
I'm so dumb.

Then while walking to the bathroom I turn the corner & knock over the "Caution Wet Floor" sign.

Server Guy- I'm so sorry!
Me- Oh no worries! I don't know how I ran into a bright yellow sign. It's like right.....there.
Server Guy- Hahahaha you're good (probably thinking in his head, "she's dumb")

Yeah, I 'm dumb.
Just walk away, just walk away.

Host Guy- Thanks for coming. Have a good night!
Me- You, too!
Host Guy- Hahaha hey, at least you got it right this time :)

I think I've had enough embarrassing moments for today.
I should probably never leave my house haha.
On the upside, I had a great time catching up with such an amazing friend! :)

....Acne

My brother's girlfriend's sister....you still following me? Well to make it easier, her name's Katie haha. Anyways, Katie came with me on Sunday while I taught my primary class so of course I had to introduce her.

Me- Marley, is that your friend?
Marley- Um no. I don't even know who she is...
Me- Fiti, is that your friend?
Fiti- No
Me- Are you sure that's not your guys' friend???
Marley & Fiti- Uh no
Me- Ok ok, she's my friend! Her name's Katie & she's visiting us from Utah!

Marley- I thought she was your mom!
Katie & I- HAHAHAHAHA
Marley- No really! I thought she was your mom & she was just wearing acne. You know, the stuff that makes you look younger...
Katie & I glance at each other....bad idea- HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Me- Acne? Trust me, you don't want acne.
Marley- But acne's supposed to make you look younger!
Fiti- Like Avon? (hahahaha again)

Seriously? Too funny! Katie & I could not stop laughing. I probably should have told her it's called makeup, not acne, but I was too busy laughing I never did. Classic!

....Peeps & Prayers

I completely forgot Sunday was Easter so I showed up to church empty handed. My poor primary class. Horrible right? Apparently one of my kids thought so.

Marley- The teacher next door brought peeps for her class! What did you bring us?
Me- Sorry, I forgot today was Easter so I have nothing.
Marley- Nooooothing?!?!! Like at all?!
Me- Nothing. I'm sorry.

A few minutes later I asked her to give the opening prayer & it went something like this:

"Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for letting us come to church. Please bless my teacher to give us treats. Help her to find our treats....like in her bag or something. Let her give us some treats. Amen."

Sorry sister, I really had nothing. Nor did I have a bag so I don't know how I'd have treats in my so called bag. Unfortunately for her, that prayer wasn't answered by me :( haha

....Second Dad

I was pulling up to the house after work Friday when I ran into my brother driving out. I saw everyone in the car and asked, "Where you guys going?!" because they were definitely about to leave me behind. What the heck, guys?! But he responded with, "We're going to the hospital to give Romney a blessing" What the? Hospital?

You see, Romney is a special man. He was our dad's best friend & we love him like a second dad.

I'm not going to lie, hearing he was in the hospital kinda freaked me out. About two seconds after Chris began the blessing, he went quiet. A little while passed and still no words came out of his mouth, so I opened my eyes even though I knew what I was going to see. Tears were rolling down my brother's face.

By the time the blessing was over, I"m pretty sure most of us had shed a few tears of our own. I kept thinking, "He's the only other dad we've got, we can't lose him too" and when I mentioned to Chris how he cried he answered with, "I know. He's just like a dad to us and it's hard seeing him like that" You know someone's an incredible person when children who aren't even his, cry over him.

We visited Romney again tonight & he looks like he's on his way to getting better. I'm grateful because if we lose him, I honestly don't know what we'd do.

He's our friend.
Our humble guide.
But most of all, our second dad.
